Thermacell came to the team with a big challenge: consolidate two Georgia facilities into one streamlined operation—while designing for immediate needs and long-term growth. The solution would require more than just office space and warehouse efficiency. A key component was bringing hazardous material storage indoors for the first time, a move that introduced a host of technical and regulatory design challenges.
The hazardous material storage area required detailed collaboration with an environmental engineer to ensure code compliance. Every inch mattered, especially in designing a narrow footprint for a forklift-accessible containment ramp and planning around the 25-foot separation required for reactive materials.
The project didn’t stop at life safety. The main office space was designed for 30–35 employees, providing a blend of open areas, private offices, and various collaboration spaces. A spacious training room for 20–30 people and a centralized warehouse-side breakroom, locker room, and restrooms for 60–80 shift workers ensured the entire Thermacell team, from leadership to the floor, had what they needed.
What could have been a drawn-out, complicated process was streamlined thanks to the industrial TI team’s deep expertise in interior space planning, warehouse process design, and building code understanding. Despite a tight move-in deadline, the project hit every milestone—without any critical delays to Thermacell’s operation.
The design emphasized a minimalist and pragmatic approach to office/warehouse design – merging two separate facilities under one roof with future growth in mind and accommodating a comprehensive warehouse process, diversified across 230,000 SF with racked and floor storage, light manufacturing and product assembly, and a 10,000 SF hazardous material storage room. The solution didn’t just meet regulatory demands—it provided a cohesive and flexible environment tailored to the client’s operational goals. This project stands as a success story of collaboration, technical ingenuity, and efficient execution under pressure.
